EXPLORATION

3-D lithological and structural model
of Musselwhite mine

Exploration at the Musselwhite property continues to focus on the conversion of existing mineral resources to mineral reserves, the extension of known resources, and defining new “grass roots” prospects. Particular attention is being paid to understanding the structural architecture of the near mine area and a detailed 3-D lithological and structural model has been developed. All existing infrastructure, resource and reserve models, and drill hole databases are included in this interactive model. The model is regularly reviewed and is used to fine tune exploration targets.

Exploration drilling completed a 2,430 meter mother hole and two daughter holes on the North Shore of Opapimiskan Lake.  This hole is located on the down-dip projection of the ore body, 3 kilometers from the existing reserves and 1.8 kilometers north of the last economic intersection on the main Musselwhite Trend.  Drilling has intersected several iron formations and shear zones and has returned several narrow high grade intersections indicating the existence of gold in the mineralizing system will north of the existing mine.  Drilling on this target continues.

Goldcorp will invest $10 million in exploration at Musselwhite in 2009.

Exploration during the third quarter of 2009 successfully extended the northern boundaries of the PQ Deeps C- and D-blocks, while defining the northern extent of the A-block. Delineation drilling also extended the southern extent of the D-block and the Moose Zone, while drilling to the north further defined the mineralisation of the S1 and S2 limbs of the T-Antiform and the Moose Zone.
